Published May 27, 2026

We are proud to celebrate our Founder & MD Natalie Wilson, who has been awarded the BSI Impact Award for Health, Safety & Wellbeing.

This recognition comes at a meaningful time, as Workwear Solutions International celebrates its 10-year anniversary this year, marking a decade of significant business growth under the leadership of Natalie.

The BSI Impact Awardsare more than recognition’, they are a platform to showcase how standards makers and standards users are driving impact for a fair society and a sustainable world’. The awards recognise individuals whose contributions have delivered real, measurable impact – and we were delighted to see Natalie acknowledged among them.

As part of the BSI Standards Makers Awards, Natalie was nominated in the Health, Safety & Wellbeing category – highlighting individuals whose work in managing risk has made a meaningful difference to both the physical and mental wellbeing of people.

Standards makers are often the “unsung heroes” behind the scenes – developing the frameworks that support government, industry, and communities across the UK and beyond. Those representing the UK on international and European committees play a vital role in ensuring our nation’s voice is heard globally. Nominations for this category had to ‘clearly show how the individual nominee has made an outstanding contribution to ensuring the standard delivered meaningful impact’.

Natalie was awarded the BSI Impact Award for Health, Safety & Wellbeing for her ‘extraordinary and transformative leadership of BS 30417, a landmark British standard that is already shifting industry practice, influencing government agendas, and shaping international standards development’. Her work continues to drive positive change across PPE, workwear and uniform programmes – improving safer and more inclusive outcomes for end users across multiple sectors.

Natalie served as Chair of the drafting panel and played a pivotal role in driving forward the creation of BS 30417 at unprecedented speed. She engaged directly in drafting multiple complex clauses and provided extensive, high‑quality technical content, reviews, and amendments throughout the process. Her ability to coordinate contributors, unify perspectives and maintain forward momentum ensured the standard progressed efficiently without compromising rigour. Her expert guidance and visibility have supported political discussions around PPE accessibility, helping shape a developing national conversation on inclusive design and workplace safety.

Reflecting on this award, Natalie said:

“It was a huge honour to receive this award last week – especially considering this isn’t just about recognition in PPE standards, but in all British Standards work, across every sector”.

The award “isn’t really about personal recognition, but instead it’s about what this means for the cause you’re fighting for”.

“I want to use the opportunity to highlight how important this issue is, for millions of people across the UK and Europe who are unable to perform safely in their current PPE, and who need us as all to step up with procurement processes that demand fit for form PPE for the entire workforce, product specifications that support inclusive workforces and more inclusive product standards and test methods”.

The award was presented at the BSI Standards Conference & AGM during BSI’s 125th anniversary celebrations. A huge congratulations to the other winners of the 2026 BSI Impact Awards.
